Using an old radio recorder, HOPEnglish founder Peter Tseng would often record and playback English programs off the radio station when learning English. Over time, the constant rewind and playback began to chip away at his drive to learn. Rather than defeated, this experience instead sparked an intense desire for him to reflect on how to improve the current language learning tool. In 1995, he created a cutting-edge language learning device, which he later patented across the U.S. and Europe. Its release caused a stir in the industry and helped numerous others learn English. His greatest achievement though was applying this technology to his two sons, Charlie and C.Y., who'd just finished junior high school at the time. That summer, coupled with his invention, he helped them build a strong foundation for English, thereby changing their lives and allowing them to never fret over English as a school subject ever again. In Taiwan, a “force-fed” style of education composed of basic memorization was the norm. Many were too afraid to open their mouths to actually speak up. Therefore, in 2012, they founded HOPEnglish to fill the gap they saw missing in current Taiwanese education. Through the use of modern technology, their goal was to instill “HOPE” for others, just as Father once did for them. In 2014, they launched the unique patented Online Learning System 攻其不背. This comprehensive system encompasses an exclusive "strategy-based learning" mechanism that allows students to improve based on their progress and touch on their desired topics. Most importantly, learning English is now easy and doesn’t require students to ever memorize a single word! Under the two brothers’ guidance, HOPEnglish is focused on enhancing the quality of education and catering to each student’s individual needs.
